Pep Band Reflection
I am very committed to pep band. I came to all of the required games and most of the volunteer games because I love to cheer on the boys and play music. My letter grade would be an A. My first reason why I gave myself this letter grade is that I came to all of the required games. The second reason why I gave myself this grade is that I also came to most of the optional games. The last reason why I gave myself this grade is that I really tried my hardest to play to songs correctly.
I think that pep band is an important element to the band. The first reason is that we can play different songs than we play at our concerts. The second reason is that we can improve on our instrumental skills. Playing at the basketball is good practice for us. The last reason is that it helps the boys win by getting them motivated.
My top 3 songs for pep band are "Crazy Train", "Land of 1000", and "Let's Go Band". These are my top three because I am really good at these songs. I can keep up with the tempo and can hit all the notes. My bottom three pep band songs are "Wipeout", "Lady Gaga", and "Seven Nations". I cannot keep up in "Seven Nations"; it is way too fast for me. Some of the notes in "Lady Gaga" are too high for me. "Wipeout" confuses me because there are a bunch of repeats and codas.
The song I think I improved the most on is "Lady Gaga", measure number 41-48. I've improved on these measures because I have been practicing more on them. I have less squeaks and can keep up with the other two girls.
I think that we should play the song "I'm Still Standing" by Taron Egerton. I like Taron's version better than the original. I think it is a very good song and we can use the piano more.
